We are disempowering ourselves as women by diminishing our spiritual practice

Recently I had a dream where I was burned at the stake. No joke. I was wearing an old-fashioned bonnet and flames surrounded me. It was the most vivid dream I’ve ever had. I smelled the smoke. I felt the heat of the encroaching fire.

I looked over and a friend of mine — a real-life girlfriend but in this dream also wearing an old-fashioned bonnet—was at a nearby stake and set afire. Then I started to burn.

I woke up and thought, maybe past lives are a real thing. The dream was just too visceral. …

And with my own femininity

I believe women still need men. It may not be the hip or feminist thing to say — and one that I would have disagreed with for the first 30 years of my life — but now is my truth that emerged from a deep-down primal place in myself.

Nine years ago, I was slammed by a catastrophic illness that upended my life. The fatigue alone was enough to keep me in bed most of the day. It took me nearly three years, over a dozen doctors, and my dogged insistence that I wasn’t depressed or experiencing “somatization disorder” to…

Instead of “what’s your sign?” it’s now “what’s your design?”

Human Design is like a newer, cooler version of astrology. Instead of 12 signs, there are 5 energy types: Manifestor, Generator, Manifesting Generator, Projector, and Reflector. Your energy type is determined by your birth date, time, and location — and so is your chart, which is called a bodygraph.

Your bodygraph looks something like this with 9 chakra-like centers that are either “undefined” (white) or “defined” (colored in) depending on your individual design.

An introduction to the Reflector energy type

Instead of asking “what’s your sign?” certain circles are now asking “what’s your design?”

More specifically, what’s your energy type?

There are 5 energy types in Human Design — Manifestor, Generator, Manifesting Generator, Projector, and Reflector — which are determined by your birth date, time, and location (similar to calculating your sign in astrology).

Here’s what you need to know about the rarest energy type that only make up 1% of the population: Reflectors.

Reflector — “The Wise 1%”

Like Projectors, Reflectors are a “non-energy” type. They have an open sacral center on their bodygraph (Human Design chart) and lack its life force energy. …

Here’s what you need to know about Manifestors, our society’s fire starters.

Manifestor— “Make Sh*t Happen”

Most of us are “conditioned” (a big concept in Human Design) by society to just do it and go after what we want. …

More specifically, what’s your energy type?

There are 5 energy types in Human Design — Manifestor, Generator, Manifesting Generator, Projector, and Reflector — which are determined by your birth date, time, and location (similar to calculating your sign in astrology).

Projectors make up about 21% of the population and are the “newest” energy type. Here’s what you need to know about Projectors.

Projector — “Wait for it… Recognition! Success!”

The Projector energy type is referred to as a “non-energy” being. They rely on the other types for energy because they don’t have their…

An introduction to generator energy types

Instead of asking “what’s your sign?” certain circles are now asking “what’s your design?”

More specifically, what’s your energy type?

There are 5 energy types in Human Design—Manifestor, Generator, Manifesting Generator, Projector, and Reflector—which are determined by your birth date, time, and location (similar to calculating your sign in astrology).

Generators make up 70% of the population. There are pure Generators and Manifesting Generators. Both have the sacral center defined on their bodygraph (what a Human Design chart is called), which gives them the life-force energy that makes the world run.

Here’s what you need to know about both generator…

Should you be sleeping alone at night?

First off, this isn’t about shoulds. Rather, think of this post as a permission slip if sleeping alone feels correct for you but is something you’ve been making yourself wrong for or are afraid to voice to your bed buddy.

Let’s be real: whether you’re married or casually hooking up with someone, giving them the boot from your bed is generally considered a bad thing. Like, you’ve got intimacy issues, dude.

And I’ll be honest. The first time I heard someone share that she slept in separate bedrooms from her partner — because…

Your ideal love match

Whether you’re single or co-mingled, it can be helpful to know how you operate in relationships and how your partner — or potential partner — does too, and whether this is an ideal love connection. Based on your Human Design, of course!

The best place to look for romantic compatibility is not your energy type (any energy type can be compatible with any energy type) but at your Profile. In Human Design your Profile consists of two numbers, arranged like a fraction (i.e. 1/3, 5/2, or 4/6), that represents your personality. Some personalities are more compatible with others. …
